After Hours Telephone Care Program

The After Hours Telephone Care program is a nationally recognized telephone triage and advice service for subscribing community physicians and their families. Our caring, experienced pediatric nurses take evening and weekend calls to answer questions, suggest home care, or if necessary, direct them to an after-hours care facility.

ParentSmart! HealthLine

The ParentSmart! Healthline is our community service phone line for families in the Rocky Mountain Region. This phone line is staffed by caring, experienced pediatric nurses who provide triage and advice, physician referrals, immunization information, and answer general health information questions. ChildrensMD Mobile App for iPhone, iPad, iTouch

The award-winning, free symptom checker offers parents information to help them decide what level of care (if any) is needed and how to provide speedy symptom relief for minor illnesses or injuries. ChildrensMD is derived from clinical protocols used by pediatricians and nurses in 10,000 practices and 400 nurse advice call centers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Visit to get the app.

Partnerships with Community Physicians

These partnerships include:

  • Neonatology coverage of level I and II nurseries in nine community hospitals throughout the Denver-metro region and along the Front Range.
  • Hospitalist coverage of pediatric inpatient units at Children's Colorado, Children's Hospital Colorado North Campus, Children's Hospital Colorado at Saint Joseph Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado at Parker Adventist Hospital, Exempla Lutheran Medical Center and Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital.
  • Pediatric Locum Tenens, in which Children's Colorado-contracted physicians provide short-term, temporary coverage for private pediatric practices. (Currently these physicians cover more than 1,000 days and 16,000 child visits a year for practices throughout Colorado and Wyoming.)
  • A physician relations program that facilitates communications and service solutions between 4,500 primary care providers and community specialists in Colorado and surrounding states with hospital-based specialists.
